Grayson Valley Country Club, The Country Club East, is located between Center Point and Trussville, Alabama on Chalkville Mountain Road. The Country Club East is built on 144.68 acres of previous farm land which was known as the original old Carraway Dairy Farm. Its location is convenient to Birmingham via I-59. The Club is approximately 12 minutes from downtown Birmingham.
Grayson Valley Country Club was formed in the early spring of 1976. In October 1977 Ronald J. Moore and Joseph F, Yarborough formed the G.V. Corporation and purchased the property and incomplete golf facility. An aggressive plan was put into place including the expanding of the membership from 39 members in 1977 to filling the membership in 1986.
John Lafoye, a nationally recognized golf course architect was commissioned to rebuild and redesign The Country Club East. Every phase of the golf course was completed within the first nine years of operation.
The courses fairways and tees are Tifton Bermuda grass and it's greens are sodded Tif-Dwarf Bermuda grass. All areas of the course are sprinkled with automatic system from three deep-sunk wells on the property. The course has fully paved cart paths and a fleet of the most up-to-date electric golf carts.
Designed for its Members enjoyment and pleasure, Grayson Valley Country Club is one of the finest Private Clubs with an 18-Hole Championship Golf Course within the Southeast.
